Our Story

Our Story: A Legacy Stirred by Hand

Pancha Creations was born from a shared purpose to preserve something sacred — a legacy of Ayurvedic healing, handmade nourishment, and ancestral wisdom passed down for generations.

Heritage at the Heart of Pancha Creations

It began in a small kitchen in Mumbai, where our Co-Founder & Product Architect, Anupama Vaidya, learned to make ghee from scratch alongside her mother. Butter was churned by hand from fermented cream, prepared with intention and care. Nothing was wasted — and the ghee was treasured not just as food, but as medicine, as a moisturizer, and a symbol of love. That divine aroma, engraved in her memory, became the standard she carried with her across oceans and into her own life.

When her husband Dr. Bharat Vaidya, a classically trained Ayurvedic physician, began making herbal ghees for his clients in the U.S., the need arose for ghee that matched the potency, purity, and tradition of what she knew. Anupama's home-kitchen practice, guided by Ayurvedic principles, nakshatras (lunar timings), spiritual mantras, and classical preparation methods, became the foundation she would later carry into Pancha Creations.

The traditions behind these formulas carry a profound lineage, rooted in more than 200 years of Ayurvedic wisdom. On Dr. Vaidya’s side, generations of classically trained physicians and educators helped shape the field, including the founding of one of India’s first modern Ayurvedic college in Mumbai. On Anupama’s side, a legacy of intuitive healers, skillful cooks, and kitchen alchemists upheld the daily rhythm of Ayurvedic living — where meals were medicine, seasons guided the stove, and nourishment was an act of love and care.

Anupama’s path in Ayurveda has been one of deep-rooted devotion, shaped by years of experience and intergenerational learning. In the early years of her marriage, she worked closely within her husband's family Ayurvedic clinic, assisting in patient care and daily operations under the guidance of a respected physician. There, she witnessed the power of traditional healing firsthand. Over the decades, she continued to study Ayurvedic principles, herbal preparations, and seasonal practices, refining her knowledge in both the kitchen and the clinic. Today, her work reflects a lifetime of dedication to food as medicine, and a legacy of healing carried forward through family and practice.

Beyond the kitchen and clinic, Anupama has also spent nearly 20 years teaching others how to bring Ayurveda into daily life through food and traditional preparation methods. Her work as an Ayurvedic educator has included guiding students through classical herbal preparations and medicinal formulations — not only how to make them, but when and why they are used. She has also taught Ayurvedic cooking through a deeply practical lens: seasonal and dosha-balancing meals, therapeutic food protocols for common conditions, and specialized culinary support for pregnancy and postpartum. Her approach reflects a rare blend of ancestral knowledge, practical skill, and lifelong experience — helping others rediscover the kitchen as a place of healing, intelligence, and care.

In time, the homemade ghees began traveling — passed from kitchen to community, shared with students, clients, and friends. The difference wasn’t just in the taste; it was in the way it made people feel.

Where Heritage Meets Vision

Long before Pancha Creations took shape, Lillian Vaidya's path had already been guided by a longstanding devotion to health, healing, and service. Her early background in biochemistry and medical research reflected a desire to understand the body deeply, while her work helping people facing chronic pain and physical limitations in clinical medical sales revealed the deeper dimension of care that science alone cannot explain. Those experiences shaped a lasting conviction: that people need more than solutions — they need to feel heard, supported, and cared for in a way that restores hope.

That conviction would find its fullest expression closer to home than she expected. Lillian leveraged her interdisciplinary experience to architect the expansion of the family's Ayurvedic mission, following a career pivot prompted by a serious car accident. What began as simply making ghee, quickly evolved into something more.

As someone who has spent her life navigating the uncertainty of chronic autoimmune illness, she recognized something powerful in these heritage-rich formulas: a kind of healing that conventional care often overlooks. Faced with a condition too commonly misunderstood — and suffering too easily dismissed — she chose another path: one where food becomes medicine, heritage becomes healing, and ancient wisdom offers hope

Through Ayurveda, she found more than relief — she found clarity, nourishment, and the power to reclaim her health. It became clear this legacy wasn’t just worth preserving — it was meant to be shared, through real food crafted with care and rooted in tradition.

As Co-Founder & CEO, Lillian is the architect of the Pancha Creations mission. Bringing a blend of scientific grounding, regulatory strategy, and executive vision, Lillian transformed a private family tradition into a purpose-driven brand. Under her leadership, the ancient integrity of each formulation is matched by modern operational excellence — making restorative nourishment and empowered healing accessible to communities around the country. For Lillian, every aspect of the business, from the digital infrastructure to the hand-poured jars, is an extension of a commitment to service: where every product carries purpose and possibility.

Where Heritage Becomes Purpose

Together, Anupama and Lillian grew Pancha Creations from a home kitchen into a mission-driven business. Guided by heritage and intention, they now bring their Ayurvedic ghees, traditional recipes, and healing formulations to those seeking deeper, more authentic nourishment and balance.

Every batch is still made by hand in Colorado — stirred with care, guided by tradition, and infused with the same purpose that started it all: to help others reclaim their health, one spoonful at a time.

The Name Behind the Brand

The name Pancha Creations is rooted in something ancient.

In Sanskrit, Pancha means five — and in Ayurveda, the number five holds profound significance. It points to the Pancha Bhuta: the Five Great Elements at the foundation of all creation and existence — Akasha (space), Vayu (air), Agni (fire), Jala (water), and Prithvi (earth).

In Ayurvedic understanding, these elements are not abstract ideas — they are the building blocks of nature, of the body, and of all transformation. They shape the rhythms of the seasons, the qualities of the foods we eat, the tissues of the body, and the subtle forces that influence balance and healing. Health, in the Ayurvedic view, is the art of keeping these elements in harmony. When they fall out of balance, the body signals its need for restoration. When we tend to them through the right foods, herbs, rhythms, and formulations prepared with intention, the body finds its way back to wholeness.

This is the lens through which we create.

Every ingredient we select, every herb we infuse, every preparation method we follow is guided by an understanding of elemental energetics: how food and plant medicine interact with the living, layered intelligence of the human body.

The name Pancha Creations reflects both what Ayurveda teaches and what we value most.

Five elements. Five commitments: to tradition, to craft, to healing, to integrity, and to care.

Because we’ve been there too — navigating uncertainty, searching for answers, and finding hope in the wisdom of the past.

Ingredient Philosophy:

Honoring Purity, Preserving Tradition

At Pancha Creations, we believe that what goes in matters just as much as how it’s made. That’s why every ingredient we source reflects our unwavering commitment to integrity, tradition, and efficacy.

Our co-founder, Anupama, spent years curating the ingredient standards that define our products today. For our ghee alone, this meant testing nearly every butter available — from premium local dairies to well-known brands — searching for the one that would truly reflect the ghee she grew up with in India.

She finally found it in a grass-fed, pasture-raised cultured butter with a clean, rich flavor and silky texture — remarkably close to the butter used by her mother and grandmother in India to make ghee by hand from local A2 cows.

While the butter is not organic, it was chosen intentionally for its exceptional quality, richness, and close resemblance to the cultured butter our founder grew up with. It is over 95% grass-fed, GMO-free, and sourced from cows that graze on lush open pastures nearly all year. Its unmatched quality forms the heart of our ghee — and reflects our commitment to honoring ancestral tradition without compromising on integrity or experience.

All other ingredients in our formulas — including every herb and spice — are certified organic.

Why We’re Different

We don’t just make products — we preserve a legacy.

Every aspect of what we do reflects our commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship, intention, integrity, and Ayurvedic tradition

  • We use cultured butter — most don’t.
Made from traditionally fermented cream, cultured butter enhances both flavor and digestibility — giving a smoother texture and richer, more complex character than versions made with sweet cream or mass-produced alternatives.

From an Ayurvedic standpoint, this choice is deeply rooted in tradition. Classical preparation of ghee begins with cultured dairy because fermentation transforms the heavier, cooler qualities of cream into something more refined and bioavailable — making ghee better suited to serve as a yogavahi/anupana: a carrier that amplifies and transports the therapeutic properties of herbs into the body's deeper tissues, or dhatus. This is what makes herbal ghee so much more than the sum of its ingredients.

The butter we use begins on small farms where cows graze freely and live with dignity. We support partners who uphold high standards for animal well-being — from humane treatment to the ability to express natural behaviors. This respect for life honors both the integrity of our ingredients and the spirit of Ayurveda itself.

It's a difference you can taste — and feel.

  • Certified organic botanicals, chosen for potency and purity.
Every herbal ingredient is USDA certified organic, sustainably sourced, and carefully selected to preserve its natural vitality. We use whole herbs — never extracts or flavor oils — and gently infuse them, following traditional methods that respect their energetic and therapeutic properties.

  • Every botanical is rigorously tested.
Each herb is verified not just for its traditional value, but for its purity. Our trusted partners uphold rigorous safety standards, and every botanical undergoes third-party testing against strict thresholds for pesticides, microbes, and heavy metals.

  • Handcrafted in small batches.
We prepare each blend by hand in small batches, with the time and attention that allows us to maintain the highest standards of freshness, consistency, and care at every step of the process.

Our herbal ghee alone takes the better part of a full day: from the slow clarification to the careful herbal infusion that brings each batch to its ideal color, clarity, and aroma. That kind of time investment is increasingly rare — but for us, it is essential. Because when a product is made to nourish deeply, every step matters.

  • Rooted in Lineage.
Our formulas draw directly from a family tradition of Ayurvedic practice spanning more than 200 years — including generations of classically trained physicians, educators, and healers. This is not Ayurveda as aesthetic or trend. It is Ayurveda as inheritance: carried forward through family, discipline, and devotion — and handcrafted with that same care since 1896. Every formulation reflects that depth.

Small Batch. Singular Experience.

Every batch we make is held to the same unwavering standard — the same time-honored formulations, and the same carefully sourced organic herbs selected for their potency and purity.

What makes each batch special is the way it is brought to life: by hand, in small quantities, with close attention to timing, texture, aroma, and process. Each one carries the imprint of true craftsmanship.

What you receive is more than a product — it’s a thoughtfully crafted expression of tradition, wisdom, and devotion.

This is small-batch the way it’s meant to be:
Intentional. Limited. Irreplaceable.

The Kitchen as Apothecary

In our tradition, the kitchen is sacred — as healing as any clinic or pharmacy.

We treat every recipe as a formulation.

Every herb as a teacher.

Every batch as a ritual.

This philosophy echoes through every product we offer — from our herbal ghees to our future formulations. It reflects a deeper intention behind our work:

To put the tools of healing back into your hands.

Rooted in Responsibility & Sustainability

We believe nourishment should never come at the planet’s expense. While we’re a small business, our commitment to sustainability is deeply intentional — from thoughtfully sourced ingredients to low-waste packaging and small-batch production that minimizes resource impact.

This is just the beginning. As we grow, so does our responsibility — and our promise is to evolve with transparency, integrity, and care for the earth that sustains us.
